Mastercraft Article Series Set To Inspire Australian Homes

Mastercraft Article Series Set To Inspire Australian Homes

Posted 24 April 2019

From The Walls of Yves Saint Laurent to The Bathrooms of Torquay

Artisan features and mastercrafted finishes are often the fond whispers echoed after a home inspection.

At Next Address, we regularly take note of the comments and responses from keen buyers and it can be these unique touches that carry an idea into a purchase.

Here at Next Address, we love  mastercrafts and artisan features in properties. This is of particular importance if it is timeless, exotic or adds unique value, and a customised aspect is a winner every time. High-end finishes and features are an absolute asset to the real estate market when it comes to the details potential buyers will relish about your property.

In this series, we will look at some of these Australian artisans and tradespeople setting the hearts of architects and designers alight with inspiration and charming home buyers.

One of the worlds most ancient and highly sought after artisan features in architecture is the Tadelakt method of rendering. Tadelakt is a Moroccan waterproof plaster technique that dates back to the eleventh century and is a rare craft that few Australians qualify in. Tadelakt is used on walls, roofs, floors, baths/basins and many other surfaces for a timeless finish

This method of plaster has been featured in some of the world's most prestigious building finishes including  Casablanca's famous Hassan II Mosque, and the Parisian home of  Yves Saint Laurent

Jules Mieszkowski from  Surfedge Rendering is a rare craftsman qualified in the Tadelakt Marakesh technique, travelling all over Australia to install his bespoke creations.

We spoke to Jules, and it was extraordinary to hear about the demand for his craft and the fast-paced passion Australia has for design value in real estate.

"We are getting phone calls running hot from architects and designers all over Australia specifically asking for Tadelakt finishes. From the northern beaches of Sydney to the prestigious region of The Great Ocean Road, nothing screams louder than unique and timeless, and you don't get more timeless than a technique that has been around for thousands of years."

"The Marrakesh style can be modified and adapted to a variety of features with the result that sparks conversations and adds incredible unique value to the end result. Functionality combined with a beautiful finish that gives the Wow factor seems to be a recipe for success according to the architect and design firms we work with."

Without a doubt, artisan techniques compliment houses into homes and dream properties.

We believe firmly in supporting the true essence of skilled master crafters and know that incorporating beautiful finishes and conversation-sparking features in your home is an asset to be reckoned with.

When we look at properties, we search for the homeliness, the design, the functionality and where the happiness lies.

Why is this?

Because when we profile your home, we want our potential new home buyers to see the property through your eyes, your home.

You know your home best and you know it's best features. These are the elements that make homeowners and buyers envision their future.
