The peer-to-peer real estate marketplace, Next Address, connects buyers directly with sellers from around the world.
Founder Julie O’Donohue is one of five Victorian finalists in Regional Pitchfest, modelled on the American reality show Shark Tank.
The website currently has 4,500 properties listed from around Australia.
“Australians have been very good at embracing Airbnb, we love our technology so I didn’t see a reason why Australians wouldn’t embrace it,” she said.
“We see it as a platform like Uber, it could be anywhere any time. You could be in Hong Kong looking at a property in Balmain. The scope is enormous for what we could do.”
The Regional Pitchfest final will be held at Federation University’s Camp Street camp on Wednesday, June 7. For more information, or to vote for the Community Choice Award, visit www.regionalpitchfest.com.
